Agora Place Osaka Namba

Agora Place Osaka Namba (3 star hotel) is in between a business hotel and for tourism. Nearest subway is Namba Station, which is easily accessible from Shin-Osaka Station. I stayed on the Premium 12th floor in the double room and the bed was big enough that two people can sleep in each bed.

8/10 stars

  • Excellent for groups. There are many beds available for any group size up to 6.

  • International guests. Not a single Japanese guest in sight. All foreigners mostly from Asia.

  • Welcome drink bar: Coffee, guava juice and lemon detox water. Available from 3pm~9pm.

  • Staff were excellent. Multilingual and Japanese staff.

  • Amenities. Pick it up downstairs.

  • Chargers: I asked to borrow two USB-C block adapter plug, and the front desk was so kind and prepared. Be sure to return it when you check out.

  • The view… was Round 1 building, but the other rooms apparently have a nicer view of Dohtonbori.

  • Breakfast Buffet. Very yummy and has everything from western and Japanese dishes. Only in Osaka, do they have takoyaki for breakfast. Available from 7am~10 am.

  • Easy 30 minute commute to Universal Studio Japan: Since breakfast opens at 7 am, I had to skip it to avoid the long line at the entrance… We got in line for our first ride by 9am. If you would like to know our strategy for USJ, please check out this article.

  • Con: If you want a pillow, you have to call it in and pick it up at the lobby yourself. They won’t bring it to your room because there is only one person at the front desk.

This hotel is great because of it’s prime location to all the street foods, so you can be first in line. You can even take hot foods to your room, and it will still be hot. Enjoy with some hot tea from the privacy and comfort of your room :)
