Spending a day like a local | Kichijoji Tour

Cyber Bunny guides a family from San Francisco, U.S.A. spending the day like a local! But first, let’s run an errand.

“Glasses are way too expensive in the U.S.!”

Japan is one of the best places for medical and beauty tourism.

The family took advantage of this by getting a new pair of prescription glasses at Zoff. They also offer progressive lens, blue-light, colored lens, lens adjustments etc. They probably saved at least $300-500 usd per person!

If you have a complicated prescription, it is most likely that they will ask you to pick up your glasses in two weeks. By that time, you will already be flying back home if you are visiting. Unfortunately, they do not ship overseas.

One of the perks of booking with Cyber Bunny Tours is that CB can send you your glasses and other items back home!

Once our errands were done, we can now enjoy a day in the residential area of Tokyo! Welcome to Kichijoji…

Local favorites

Takoyaki from Gindako

Purikura Booth

It was the girl’s first time doing this! I showed them how to do it, in the next round… they were at it like pros!

Best Frozen Yogurt: Blueberry, Mango, Raspberry

Inokashira Park

Inokashira Park during late December

Don’t bring your partner into this lake for a boat ride! Rumor has it, you are bound to break up…

Select thrift shops selling vintage clothing. Maybe you can find your old varsity jacket here?

Fortune telling

One of my favorite things to spend my money is look for guidance… or I like to think “a different perspective.”

I don’t trust my friends or family or anyone I personally know for advice. It’s not that I don’t think they don’t have the best interest in me… People give advice based on their own experiences, so what makes them think my life will be like theirs?

We had time to spare, so I took the girls to my special energy reader or psychic. Luckily, he had an opening.

He doesn’t do tarot cards or read palms. He uses names and birthdates. He was able to predict certain things that came across in my life (marriage, TV, media stuff etc.)

This was my first time taking my guests to him. He’s only available on Fridays, so it was perfect!

We did a 12 minute reading for each person, and what he said gave me chicken skin!

Capybara + Cat Cafe

Enjoy a relaxing time chillin with cats and Kiku chan, the well-fed female capybara. They have the cutest Taylor Swift white sassy cats!

“CB, can you book us a hole-in-the-wall authentic local Japanese food? I don’t want to eat like a tourist…”

This dinner spot is famous for their Akita cuisine. A favorite among my local friends. The interior is super cozy with counter seats, table seats, and Japanese style seating with private rooms available.

They don’t have an English menu, so that’s a good sign.

Tsukune (saucy chicken) with egg is my recommended dish!

Ghibli Cream Puffs

Dessert was waiting at their hotel… so it wouldn’t get ruined at dinner
