Lunch with Filipino Star: Thea Tolentino

Thea Tolentino, a Filipino former reality star turned actress, slipped into my DMs. She was flying to Tokyo and wanted to meet up.

At first… I was shocked! ME?! I’m just a weirdo bunny.

I took her to this hidden cafe in Meiji Park, which is a newly opened area by Meiji Jingu Gaien, Meiji Baseball Stadium, the famous line of Gingko Trees and foreign car meet ups. The cafe is located right behind Starbucks and it is hard to find, but so nice with AC to cool off from the heat.

I had a wonderful time getting to know Thea, her current life in the Philippines, her dreams, the pipin’ hot tea, and what social media is like on her end with 804k followers on Instagram! (@theatolentino)

It was nice to talk about social media with someone who understands the pain and struggles, as well as the perks.

For those that don’t know who she is…

I will later binge-watch all her soap operas and shows LOL!

“What’s your dream role?”

Thea is usually casted as the antagonist, villain or “mean girl.” Maybe because of her killer RBF (Resting B*tch Face).

If she had it her way, she dreams to live in Japan for a few months while working on a film. That would kill two passions with one stone. Thea loves Japan and visits a few times a year to escape the heat in the Philippines in May.

She wishes to be the good girl next door/main character for once. The story plot goes like this: Single girl from the Philippines follows her passion for Japan. One day, moves to Japan for work and lives in a shoe-box apartment while attending Japanese school to work on her JLPT N4. She bumps into a Japanese man who shows her around Tokyo and falls in love. The end.

There must be thousands of single people who dreams of this reality.

This is what we ate

We also made some Tiktoks

I don’t have too many friends in Japan who enjoy making silly videos. I’m glad we did this! Coming to a screen near you!

She’s also an artist!

She made me a one-of-a-kind original artwork. It’s a magnet! I love it so much!! She even painted Bianco Bunny. Thank you! It’s on my fridge!
