Girls Trip (Day 3)

Ghibli Museum, Capybara + Cats, Fire Shave Ice

This is the Kichijoji Route, which is great for those who want to experience suburban life and escape from tourist traps and crowds.

Kichijoji is where I go during my free time off. I love to go thrift shopping, grab dinner with my friends, sing karaoke, go on dates, go to my favorite fortune teller, and this is even where our music studio is located! The beautiful Inokashira Park is nearby, which is perfect for fall foliage and cherry blossom viewing.

Kichijoji has the best street foods

I personally feel that this town has the best street foods. Not overrated, nor overpriced, good sized portions. The girls tried kamaboko (fishcake), menchi katsu (fried meat balls), and taiyaki (fish-shaped cake). I’m so happy that they were willing to try everything and anything!

Capybara & Neko Cafe is one out of two places in Tokyo you can see Capybara up close. This is a 50-minute session that includes one drink. The girls enjoyed cuddling with the most beautiful sassy white cats (the kind Taylor Swift has) and feeding Capybara, who has been eating well obviously.

Cafe Lumiere

Cafe Lumiere is a popular small quaint cafe that’s very difficult to get a reservation. I’ve been here twice and it’s very good! Spots are available only two-weeks in advanced and I was so glad we were able to grab a table! They are known for their fire shave ice, curry and coffee. The girls and I nibbled and it was the perfect amount for “tea time.”

Have you ever had shaved ice… that’s on fire?

Kichijoji has a ton of cute shops

We got matching bracelets! Pink Tiger Eye is a gemstone in bringing success in business, money and work. Watch out world, this gal is gonna make money moves.

Ghibli cream puffs

We strolled through Inokashira Park as it started to drizzle and ate our creme puffs near some beautiful hydrangeas nearby. Doesn’t this remind you of the scene in “My Neighbor Totoro'“?

It is said that the owner of Shiro-Hige's Cream Puff Factory is the sister-in-law of Hayao Miyazaki, founder of Studio Ghibli. Even more of a reason to support the creator and the empire he built.

This smile is priceless :)

These adorable Totoro-shaped cream puffs are a must! The seasonal flavors rotate every season, but my favorite has got to be the Blueberry Yogurt in the summer! Be sure to get in line early since they tend to sell out by early afternoon. At Bunny Tours, we can guarantee every guest gets their flavor of choice without even having to wait in line.

Ghibli Museum for the Ghibli fans

The Ghibli Museum was next on the itinerary. The girls had Ghibli on their bucket list, so I was stoked that we were able to get them admission tickets.

The hardest sayonara…

When you’ve bonded for three days, it’s even harder to say goodbye. I dropped them off at the museum and wished them luck in pursuing their dreams and future.

Thank you for a wonderful 3 days together! You will always have a friend in Tokyo <3 Bunny
